How To Link An Exercise To A Plan

The best way to validate your plan is to test it with an exercise. This article outlines the steps to link your plan to the exercise. See our Validate Plans Through Exercises Admin Guide article to learn more. 

 

 

Add a tag to a plan:

  1. Open the Plan
  2. Select Plan Actions
  3. Choose Edit Properties in the drop down
  4. Add a tag to the Tags field

Add the plan to the exercise:

  1. Open the Exercise
  2. Find the Exercise Scope section and choose the Select Plans button
  3. Type the name of the associated plan, or type % to bring up a list of plans to choose from
  4. Save the selected plan

Create an Exercise Requirement:

  1. Open the Administration menu
  2. Choose Exercise Requirements from the menu
  3. Select the New Exercise Requirement button
  4. Add the tag from the tag field in the plan in the Tag field
  5. Add the type of exercise in the Exercise type field, like the following examples:
    1. tabletop
    2. notification test
    3. alternate site test
    4. full simulation
  6. Choose the Create Exercise Requirement button

Add the Exercise type to the Exercise:

  1. Open the Exercise
  2. Select Exercise Actions
  3. Choose Edit Properties from the drop down
  4. Add the exercise type from Exercise Requirements to the Exercise Type field
  5. Select the Update button
  6. Approve the Exercise

The Plan will now display the exercise type as the Exercise Status. The exercise status will display with green font if all mandatory requirements in the exercise are met and the exercise is approved. The exercise status will display with red font if any mandatory requirements in the exercise are not met or the exercise is not approved.
